Boys Varsity Track · Damion Loman CIF Div. 3 Long Jump Championship Highlights PSHS Very Successful CIF Track and Field Day!

Palm Springs Track had another successful meet on May 11 at the CIF Div. 3 Finals.  Damion Loman is the Div. 3 CIF Long Jump Champion with a leap of 22-4.  This also qualified him 6th overall in all divisions, putting him into the Masters Meet, to be held at El Camino College on May 18th.  Maricela Wright will also be joining him at the Masters, finishing tied for 2nd in Div. 3 in the High Jump (5-2).  Maricela tied for 7th position overall in all divisions.  She also finished 5th in the Long Jump at 16-11. To qualify for the State Meet, athletes need to finish in the top 6, or meet an at-large standard.  The Indians medaled in 5 of the 7 events that they  participated in.  Novye James medaled in two events, finishing 4th in the Triple Jump at 43-11 (a season best), and 6th in the Long Jump at 21-2.  The Boys 4×100 Relay team of DJ Campbell, Elijah Russell, Carmarius Botley, and Damion Loman finished 6th with a time of 43.14.  Other event results was Carmarius Botley finishing in 8th place in the 200 with a time of 22.62.  The Boys 4×400 Relay team of Fernando Beltran, Devin Love, Elijah Russell, and Novye James finished 8th with a time of 3:31.08
