Long time Palm Springs High School Softball coach Deborah Cormier (Pictured above) is retiring from Softball. She has coached or played multiple sports for over 40 years. The last 14 at Palm Springs High School. Statement from Coach Cormier “ I have enjoyed every year at Palm  Springs and the amazing female athletes that have come through the program. I want to thank every one of them for pushing me to, not only make them better, but make me better as well. I also want to thank all of the coaches who gave their time to work with us. It has been an honor.” Palm Springs High School will forever be grateful to Coach Cormeir.

Palm Springs High School will be turning over the reins too long time assistant/teacher Carmen Vargas (pictured above).  Carmen played softball and basketball at Cathedral City High School and lettered 4 years in both sports from 2005-2009, 7 time first team all league. She graduated from CCHS in 2009. She played softball at College of the Desert for 2 years from 2009-2011. One year all conference. Received a scholarship to play at Minot State University in North Dakota, played 2 years from 2011-2013, played in the regional tournament. Graduated from MSU in 2013 with a BS in Education. Coached 1 year at College of the Desert in 2013-2014 (assistant coach) played in super regionals. She has now been a Spanish teacher and assistant varsity coach at PSHS for 6 years. Palm Springs High School would like to welcome Coach Vargas as the Head Coach of Indian Softball.
