The Palm Springs High School boys tennis team defeated the Shadow Hills Knights by a score of 11-7 in their last regular season match. Winners for Palm Springs were

A dominant performance came from Michael Cabacungan, who ended Desert Empire League play with an undefeated record of 27-0 in singles. In addition, freshman Nico Calixto had an impressive win in the third round over Travis Pimental, the number one singles player for Shadow Hills by a score of 7-6 (the score was 7-4 in the tiebreaker). Reese Buchanan and Wesley Horns stepped in as substitutes and won both their sets.
The win means the Indians finish the season in second place behind first place Palm Desert in the league with a league record of 8-2 and an overall record of 9-3. The Indians qualify for the CIF playoffs, which will start during the week of April 29. Pairings for the playoffs will be announced April 28. The next competition for the Indians is at the Desert Empire League Individual Tournament which will be held Monday and Tuesday April 22nd and 23rd at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The tournament begins at 1 pm on both days.
